Gift inscription dated 1927 on front end page, age toning and dustiness to the top and front edges of the text block, there is a mark on the front panel which is the result of water or similar being splashed on the cover and then wiped off quickly, slight fading of the back strip section of the binding. Light rubbing to the top and tail of the spine, with softening of all eight corners of the book. The Copyright page shows the book was copyrighted in 1923 and again in 1924, and on the Copyright page the title is shown as "Jim Maitland.
