It is difficult to identify with that rather homely child of 1918. I have tried to approach these old diaries objectively, rataning spelling errors and omitting only those passages which do not relate to the subject: reaction of a small Middle Western town (Streator, Illinois) to World War I. This booklet has been hand set in Bembo 14-point with Announcement tilting, and printed on a small hand-lever table model Sigwalt press. The paper is Curtis Tweedweave. There are 60 copies, of which the first goes to my brother, Willis Foster, of course. - Lois Rather. ; Signed by Author.
