Very good condition. Afrikaans text. (Nienaber I, p. 302) Gustav Schoeman Preller, the well-known South African historian, was born in 1875, and went to school at Standerton. He served in the State Artillery in the South African War, 1899-1902, and took part in major Natal battles of the war. Four months before the end of the war in 1902, he was taken prisoner near Ermelo and taken prisoner to India.
