Plate smaller than Potter's Hollstein 12: tree on the left much shorter, lower border much more within the picture. Hatchings on the lower left corner traced with a continuous line. Might be a copy of a late state; signature and date not included. On the verso in pen: 'TaveLundh l. 1896 / Sweden'. Rare impression of a copy by Lundh after the Dutch master. [Un] Grabado punteado ( Stipple engraving) de gran formato representando con gran detalle y realismo la figura de un toro en un ambiente campestre, llevado a cabo por el artista frances Charon basado en la obra de el artista especialista en animales Paulus Potter. Paulus Potter (1625-1654) fue un pintor holandés del Siglo de Oro neerlandés, conocido principalmente por sus pinturas de animales, especialmente de ganado. Potter perteneció a una familia de artistas y comenzó su formación artística bajo la tutela de su padre, Pieter Symonsz Potter, quien también era pintor. Paulus Potter se especializó en la pintura de paisajes rurales con animales, y sus obras a menudo representan escenas de pastoreo con vacas, ovejas y caballos. Uno de sus cuadros más famosos es "El toro" (también conocido como "La vaca del prado"), que destaca por la cuidadosa representación de un toro en un paisaje holandés. A pesar de su corta vida, Paulus Potter dejó un legado significativo en la historia del arte, siendo reconocido como uno de los maestros de la pintura animalística en el arte neerlandés. In the catalogue these prints are praised for their similarity to the originals: same direction but smaller in size.
