Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Near fine/none, used, red illustrated cloth binding with gilt emblem and border on the upper. 38 pages of text and 38 illustrations, 2 pages of ads to rear along with a small map and a large fold-out map, then another page of advertisement. The text under the illustrations is in English. The pages of text are in French. Interior clean no marks, binding is tight. Slightest of rubbing to exterior, corners are square, slightly bumped but not worn. Book is bound oblong: 6 inches tall and 10 inches wide.

Cloth Boards. Panoramic 8vo, pp. (iv) 37 engraved plates numbered 2-38, each with associated page text, foxing throughout and some marks, text pages slightly browned, endpapers rubbed, front hinge weak, all edges gilt, original gilt stamped red cloth boards, worn and silverfished, edges heavily worn particularly corner, minor loss head and tail spine and cloth split at front joint. Plates good. Scarce. Ouless (1817-1885) was an artist and lithographer. (This particular work was issued in several editions with a variation in the number of plates.) Rare.
Brown hardback cloth cover. Reprint. 160mm x 260mm (6" x 10"). [38pp] + plates. 37 (of 38) engravings. G : in Good condition without dust jacket. Inner hinge cracking. Previous owner's inscription dated 1868. Plates in good order, but plate 15 and its text are absent. Aeg.
