Théodore Morin (1814-1890), maire de Dieu-le-Fit dans la Drôme sous Louis-Philippe, fut envoyé par les électeurs de son département siéger à l'Assemblée Constituante après la Révolution de Février 1848. Non réélu lors des élections générales, il fut toutefois nommé aux élections complémentaires de 1849 et adhéra au coup d'état du 2 Décembre 1851. Il fit partie de la commission consultative et entra en 1852, avec l'appui du gouvernement, comme député de la Drôme au corps législatif où il a constamment siéger jusqu'à la chute de l'Empire en 1870. il publia l'essai sur les classes laborieuses avant sa carrière législative : De l'inégalité des conditions ; Phases successives de l'organisation du travail ; De l'organisation actuelle du travail ; De la production des richesses ; Du principe de population ; Position du problème social ; Devoirs du gouvernement et des citoyens ; Craintes, espérances ; De quelques systèmes contemporains ; Religion, charité.
