Blue binding with ornate plain impressing to front & spine, bright gilt spine titles. black to front. Light wear/small rubs to spine-ends & corners. Page-edges slight darkened with very small foxing. All plates in excellent colour are present , a slight nick to one edge, otherwise in very nice condition. Text has a few small blotches , otherwise very clean.

Limited to 1000 numbered sets, this is number 113. 252 pp. Full page colour illustrations by A.R. Hope Moncrieff with tissue guards, fold-out map at rear. The spine shows some sunning with chipping to ends, some splitting to edges. Good.

Blue hardback binding with gilt titles and green thistles to front and spine, spine is a bit lightened and thistles there are rubbed. Creses with white rubs to spine-ends, small frays to corners. Two ink name to end-papers which are slightly foxed. Binding pulled on cords in a couple of places where book has been laid open flat at colour illustrations which are very clean and outstanding, pages very clean.

Top edge gilt, laid paper, xi[i]+255pp. 21 colour plates, including frontis., all with titled tissue guard. Red silk marker. Spine head nicked, tail bumped, small stain to top edge upper board, white cloth generally just age-darkened. Some mild damp spotting to end-papers and tissue guards. Inner joints very good but starting. Used; Very Good De Luxe Edition of A & C colour book. Limited to 500 copies of which this is 212, signed by author - AR Hope Moncrieff. With Alexander Shiels' armorial bookplate (Be Traist) to paste-down.
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Limited Edition. Very good minus book. Limited and numbered edition. This is #99 of 500. Signed by Moncrieff on the limited edition page. Complete with 75 colour plates all with titled tissue guard. White glazed cloth covered boards. Gilt lettering with green and pink decoratingon front panel and spine. Top page edges are gilt, side and lower edges are untrimmed. Boards soiled, stained and age-darkened overall. Head and tail of boards spine are creased, corners and edges are rubbed; fraying in upper front front corner at head of spine, also 1/4" closed tear along the edge in the center. Tail of board spine is creased and rolled; frayed at tips of several creases and 3/8" closed vertical tear in the center along the edge. Fore-edge corners are tipped in. Inner joints are good overall but starting to split. Front-free end paper has residue indicating removal of previously pasted in item. Numerous pencilled comments through out the book made by a previous owner who visited these sites in 1927. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition description.
