Scarce guide for the 1928 Neues Bauen travelling exhibition of the Deutscher Werkbund. The Neues Bauen exhibition, together with 1927 â Die Wohnung" (Weißenhofsiedlung) show in Stuttgart were the highlights of the Deutscher Werkbund in 1920s. These exhibition served as showcases for the modern architects of the International Style and the Bauhaus school, the Neues Bauen featured more than seventy architects, firms, and artists all over Europe and the United States, such as: Peter Behrens, Victor Bourgeois, Le Corbusier, Josef Frank, Moisei Ginzburg, Ilya Golosov, Walter Gropius, El Lissitzky, Huib Hoste, Jaromír Krejcar, Adolf Loos, Kazimir Malevich, Erich Mendelsohn, Max Ernst, Hannes Meyer, Mies van der Rohe, Richard Neutra, Mart Stam, J. J. P. Oud, Bruno Taur, Frank Lloyd Wright, beside many others. The guide is illustrated with six mounted photographic reproduction, among them images of J. J. P. Oud's and Mies van der Rohe's buildings in the Weissenhof Estate. The texts are by Alfred Altherr (1875-1945) the director of the Gewerbemuseum Basel, and the Swiss architects Peter Meyer (1894-1984) and Hans Schmidt (1893-1972).
