Text in German. Very light chipping on spine and front cover, otherwise very good. Ottilie Ehlers-Kollwitz (1900 - 1963) was the daughter-in-law of Käthe Kollwitz. She was an artist in her own right, primarily working as a book illustrator, but was also an expert woodcut artist. She struggled to gain recognition until the 1950s and was largely forgotten following her death. A 2010 exhibition revived interest in Ehlers-Kollwitz, leading to a 2014 exhibition dedicated to her surviving works (the majority of her corpus was destroyed during World War II) at the Käthe-Kollwitz-Museum in Cologne.
