Allport, Harry Murray", A unique Association Copy, Eleanor Maccoby was a noted psychologist best known for her contributions to developmental psychology and the psychology of sex differences. The signees were a Who's Who of eminent sociologists, psychologists, and anthropologists. Talcott Parsons career was entwined with the development of sociology as an academic discipline at Harvard, and in this book he was refining his "general theory of action". In 1931, Parsons was one of the inaugural faculty members in the Dept. of Sociology at Harvard. Gordon W. Allport is known as one of the founding figures of personality psychology, and along with Harry Murray were faculty in the Psychology Dept. at Harvard. Robert R. Sears was head of the Psychology Dept. at Stanford University, Samuel Stouffer a Professor of Sociology at Harvard, and Clyde Kluckhorn a Professor of Anthropology at Harvard.
