Book First Edition Signed
Condition: Wie neu. Edition Fotohof, Salzburg. 2011. First edition, first printing. Signed by Johanna Diehl! Hardcover (as issued) 350 x 280 mm. 76 pages. Text in english and german. Condition: One corner lightly rubbed, otherwise mint, new, unread. Still originally shrink-wrapped; only opened once for signature! In Displace Johanna Diehl looks at the architectural traces left by an ongoing conflict on the island of Cyprus, which has been partitioned for some 38 years now. In her meticulous colour photographs the artist develops a typology of a sacral architecture that has undergone dramatic change as a result of standing empty, conversion and destruction over many years of conflict. The title Displace plays on the dual meaning of dislodge and replace; it refers to the absence of people that is characteristic of the photographs, people forced to leave their homeland and their places of worship behind, mosques in the Muslim north and Christian-Orthodox churches in the south. The word also designates the process of rededication and rewriting by a different ethnic group that resettled the abandoned villages.***************Edition Fotohof, Salzburg. 2011. Deutsche Erstausgabe. Signiert von Johanna Diehl! Hardcover (wie erschienen). 350 x 280 mm. 76 Seiten. Text auf englisch und deutsch. Zustand: Eine Ecke ganz leicht berieben, ansonsten neu, ungelesen, verlagsfrisch. Johanna Diehl, geboren 1977 in Hamburg. Lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 1600.
