Very slight creasing to the outer corners of cover, some yellowing to the pages, otherwise a good clean tight copy, with no creasing to the spine, of this soft-cover book. A novel based on the true-life story of Carl Zoeller (called Otto Gluck in the book), told from the point-of-view of his widow many years later. He was a German-born merchant who had lived in Australia for many years who was interned as an Enemy Alien during WW1 and then deported to Germany after the War along with his Australian-born wife and children. His family were eventually allowed Home but not Zoeller, who shot himself in South Africa. Signed and inscribed by the author on title page "To . with thanks for your hospitality .
