Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Staple-bound in card covers. Interior is clean and unmarked, aside from the bookseller's rubber stamp on the title page. 12 pages. 12 x 9 inches. Contents: 1) Reminiscing. 2) Smiling. 3) Catch-Catch. 4) A Little Dance. 5) Upon a Gay Stroll. 6) Meditation. Karel Boleslav Jirak (1891-1972) was a Czech composer and conductor. He had studied and been a teacher of composition in Prague prior to emigrating to the United States in 1947. Between 1948 and 1967 he was a professor at Roosevelt University in Chicago. Fingering and pedal indications by Jirka Mala (1893-1975) and who provides the note: ''By using the suggested fingering, all pieces may be played without pedal.'' In 1940, Mala was privately teaching piano in Peekskill, New York, and was staying in the Community of St. Mary. Both she and Jirak were natives of Prague, Bohemia.
