Leather. Facsimile Reprint. 95p. An oversize hardcover book bound in full grey-blue leather with gilt decorations, gilt foredges, moire endpapers, and a silk ribbon bookmark. LACKS THE WOOD INSET from the hull of the USS Constitution; traces of paste residue are left behind. Much of the gilt detailing has rubbed off. The foredges are foxed, but nonetheless shiny and smooth. Text clean and binding tight. A facsimile edition published on the 175th anniversary of the frigate's last battle, with introduction by former Secretary of the Navy J. William Middendorf II. Measures approx. 16.25" x 10.25".
