During a 10 year climbing period involving ascending most of the notable peaks in Scotland the author took thousands of photographs while engaged in these climbs --- here his presents 75 of those he judged the most worthy. Maybe he could claim no firsts at peak conquering, but he was the first Scottish climber-writer-photographer to produce a book of photo essays of his homeland ascents, and descents. 13 of the 17 chapters deal with specific mountain or climbing areas, while the last two are "A Little Hill" and "Higher Hills." Although the book is produced to "War Economy Standard" the text block is fine quality paper, giving the illustrations clarity, detail and depth. 128 pages including index, b/w photos throughout, many full page, e/paper maps, other map, drawing. Off-white hard covers with blue front titles and decoration/spine titles VG with light soiling adjecent spine, few unobtrusive marks, light wear spine extremities, tiny ink name/date top right FFEP, text block excellent, no inscriptions.
Hardback published by Herbert Jenkins Ltd., 1936. Front hinge a little shaky. No dustwrapper. Good condition.
