Professionally reproduced jacket is price clipped, publishing date stamp on flap, minor rubbing on the spine, but displays well in new mylar. Sheila Michaelson thought Crofton Meadows a snobbish boarding school for rich spoiled girls. Her father ran the stables; and although Sheila loved Jubilee, a handsome chestnut filly owned by the school, she could not tolerate anything else about Crofton. She had no friends; the girls snubbed her, or even worse ignored her. Sheila especially disliked Lorraine Coxon, the epitome of a Crofton girl. The conflict between Sheila and Lorraine reaches a tense and dramatic climax as Sheila finds her judgement of people and her standards shifting and changing. Joan Houston understands the problems that young people face today with their parents and friends and at school. She also has a fine knowledge of horses and horsemanship which she has combined these elements into a an exciting story with two very different, but equally fascinating, girls.
