Early printing (L-I code on copyright page without "First Edition"). Red cloth with silver titles on the spine. Red jacket with white lettering. A study of semantics, particularly of the integrative function of general semantics. S. I. Hayakawa's copy with his ownership stamp (including name and address) on the front free endpaper. Laid in is a TLS from a Donald H. Ecroyd, Professor in the Department of Speech at Temple University informing Hayakawa of Weinberg's death on July 8, 1968. Also laid in is a TLS from Gordon E. Kutler informing Hayakawa of Weinberg's death and asking him for an obituary to appear in ETC. (a quarterly review of general semantics) of which Hayakawa was the editor. Stapled to Kutler's letter is a mimeograph ALS of Hayakawa's response to Kutler asking him to write the obituary of Weinberg for ETC. Book is fine; unclipped jacket ($4.50) is very good with creasing and wear to the corners and spine ends. No loss of material and no fading. Letters all fine and signed.
