Hardcover. F. George D. Hay,Memphis Police Court Journalist for the Memphis Commercial Appeal in the early 20th was assigned to the Police Court of Judge Guston T. Fitzhugh. The book is about funny court stories, many racists by present standard. When Radio was invented, he became a reporter for WMC Radio in Memphis. Later he went to Chicago and founded a Country Barn Show for radio. Then he was lured away by WSM Radio in Nashville, Tennessee where he founded the "Grand Ole Opry", and the rest is history. Mr. Hay adopted the name, "The Solemn Old Judge." J. P. Alley of Hambone's Meditations did the cover illustration for the book. He later won a Pulitzer for his nationally syndicated Political Cartoons against the KKK. His sons J.P. and Cal Alley continued the strip until the 1960s when it was terminated as racist.
