Hardcover. Condition: Collectible Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First Edition. Family-owned bookshop in Steubenville, Ohio: BookMarx Bookstore. Books shipped within 24 hours. First Edition (1933). No marks or writing observed in text. Binding tight and square. DJ is good with light chipping and soil. . . Edward Grubb (October 19, 1854 - January 23, 1939) was an influential English Quaker who made significant contributions to revitalizing pacifism and a concern for social issues in the Religious Society of Friends in the late 19th century as a leader of the movement known as the Quaker Renaissance. He also wrote a number of hymns including Our God, to Whom we turn.[1] He would later play a major role in the No-Conscription Fellowship, an organization that united and supported conscientious objectors in Britain during World War One. . This book consists of two-minute studies or sermons on the Christian way of living. The author writes from experiance rather than from theory, and his work is marked by lucidity, freshness and charm. While difficulties are faced and not evaded, little attempt is ade to argue out, or even defend, the postions taken, The book should be of great use to preachers and to memebers of study groups on religious topics.
