From Alexander and Allingham to Yeats and the Gaelic Authors, this is a very complete collection of the best of Irish writing throughout the centuries. In ten volumes representative selections from the writers both ancient and modern are included. Nearly three hundred and fifty writers are represented. Also valuable and featured are a series of special articles on the subjects at hand including important contributions by William Butler Yeats. Among the many illustrations both in black and white and colour are facsimiles of ancient Irish manuscripts, ancient prints, broadsides, ballads, portraits, places and objects in the country and of scenery and incidents helpful in elucidating the writings.
