Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. A Baker, Gordon Browne, M E Edwards, A T Elwes, Kate Greenaway, Miriam Kerns, Charlotte J Weeks, Harrsion Weir (illustrator). 1st Edition. Scarce probably because the colour pictures are often sold separately. Dated from the ink inscription of the front endpaper, Xmas 1883. This is a rather special Little Wide-Awake title, with 58 full page colour plates in addition to numerous black and white wood engraved plates and illustrations. Pages are numbered to 192, the plates being in the numbering sequence thought generally un-numbered. The are no pages between 182 and 187, but there is no sign of them having been removed, and the contents list does not suggest theses pages ever existed. In original boards with paper illustrated front cover, adverts on rear cover, cloth spine. Some wear externally, small hole in spine, binding is slightly loose but intact, pages are clean with no foxing.
