4to. 30cm, iii, 137p., 37 plates of maps & charts, grey printed wraps, some faint staining to the first few leaves, very good.(on). A detailed study of Ottawa and environs in 1948 pre-pared by the eminent French architect and urban planner, Jacques Greber (1882-1962). Prime Minister Mackenzie-King had met Greber in Paris where he was chief architect at the World Fair and employed him as a consultant for plans for Confederation Square and the National Capital area. The plan was for the creation of a District Capital for Canada along the principle of the District of Columbia in the United States. A legacy of Greber's plans is the greenbelt of Ottawa today.
