Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. Sister Julia documents the progress and setbacks of sixteen women who traveled to the frontier town of Leavenworth City in the Indian Territory of Kansas. The struggle for survival surpassed hunger, fire and weather as the community of sisters, in the midst of the settlers and pioneers, continued their work. This thoughtful documentation accents the lives of the sisters as individuals. Sister Julia has written a well rounded account of her community's life. Tears and old water stains on dust jacket. Slight user wear on the actual book, which is in very good condition. Solid spine. Interesting black and white photographs. January 5, 2023: price lowered - fell off of shelf during earthquake, long tear along spine of dust jacket. No damage to the book. Newly wrapped in mylar to maintain integrity of the dust jacket.
