Gebrauchsspuren. - Handschriftlicher Besitzeintrag auf dem vorderen Vorsatz: "Preis - 1 fl 24 kr. / G. Schittenhelm 1867/70 / Eßlingen d. 4. August [18]68." G. Schittenhelm war vermutlich ein Schullehrer. Von einem späteren Besitzer "Appenzeller" befinden sich auf dem hinteren Vorsatz einige handschriftliche Notizen.

Auflage. - VIII, 578 SS. - August Emanuel Fürnrohr (1804-1861), war zunächst Apotheker in Regensburg, München und Zweibrücken, studierte dann in Erlangen Botanik, Chemie, Mineralogie und Geognosie. Gefördert von dem Regensburger Naturforscher David Heinrich Hoppe wurde er Lehrer in Regensburg und 1839 Professor am dortigen Lyzeum. 1846 wurde er Hoppes Nachfolger als Direktor der Königlich Bayerischen Botanischen Gesellschaft zu Regensburg. Benannt ist nach ihm die Pflanzengattung Fuernrohria aus der Familie der Doldenblütler. - Gut erhalten, Einband etwas berieben.
