Volume 1: 402 pages, with b/w illustrations and photographic images throughout. Volume 2: 374 pages, with Index and fold-out map. With b/w illustrations and photographic images throughout both volumes. Volume 1's cover is split and detached along back side of spine, corners are bumped, and spine ends are worn. Top corner of Front FEP is clipped. Volume 2's spine ends are worn and corners bumped, and both hinges are cracked. Text and illustrations of both volumes are unmarked and fine. Both volumes lack dust-jackets. Good reading/working copies of this two volume set. Due to size and weight, international shipping at cost.

Decorative Cloth. Condition: Very Good/fine. No Jacket. Francis, Vida Hunt (illustrator). 1st. A very nice two volume set with 402 pages and 374 in the volumes respectively. Over 100 illustrations from photographs by Vida Hunt Francis in each volume. Very fresh and tight internally. No sign of library use, but there is a stamp on the front pastedown of each volume stalin: "Bookcase No 6. Shelf No 2." Small label at bottom of each pastedown for The Galignant Library, Paris and Nice - apparantly a bookseller. Please note that these two volumes are considerably heavier than the ABEBooks assumed default weight of 1 kg., so postage at cost will be greater than that quoted.

In very attractive gold and red embossed cloth with red and gold flags on front, Two volumes. Green ribbed cloth cover with beautiful embossed Coats of Arms and lettering in gold and red. Gilt tops. Narrative accounts of travel and visits to the major religious centers of Burgundy, Savoy, Dauphine', Auvergne and Aquitaine. Much information on Gothic art, architecture and symbolism. Some pages unopened (still joined at top) THESE TWO VOLUMES ARE FINE IN THE VERY RARE AND ORIGINAL SLIPCASE. CARDBOARD SLIPCASE is old and shows signs of wear. Someone has reinforced the rear seams of slipcase with black tape. The top ORIGINAL PAPER LABEL IS STILL PRESENT, IT LISTS THE BOOKS AND CONTENTS. Although the slipcase shows wear, it has protected these two volumes well as they are both in clean fine condition. Top page edges gilt (gold).
