Signed by the Author (in blue ink) underneath his picture on the page preceding the Foreword. Only flaw is an abrasion at the top of the FFEP. 16 chapters and 42 B&W vintage photographs on the last 18 pages. These are the memories of a pioneer and his grandson as told by the grandson. Fascinating local history. Leakey is a city in and the county seat of Real County, Texas, United States. The population was 425 at the 2010 census. Anglo-American settlement of the area began in 1856 when John Leakey, his wife Nancy, and a few others settled near a spring along the banks of the Frio River.
