First Edition Signed
Bloomfield, New Jersey: H.B. Wiggin's Son Co., 1903. 62, [1, advert)] pp. Illus. First edition. 8vo. Limp burlap binding, string-tied. Near Fine. An unusual American binding comprised of the publisher's Fabri-Ko-Na burlap; a material they also used for their custom curtains, draperies, seat covers, and art pillow covers. The heroine of this love story is a young woman who is a young decorative artist, an interior designer, who owns her own studio. Within the narrative is woven a not-very-subtle advertisement for the publisher's Ko-Na-Colors and burlaps. Askew wrote to other pieces for this New Jersey company, Dolly's Folly. A Saratoga Convention Story (1903) and A Fair Price. A World's Fair Story (1904). With a frontispiece and four full-page illustrations signed by F.A. Stevens. A lovely copy.
