1st edition in English. Ltd. 300 copies signed by translator and illustrator: there were 1000 in the entire print run. Large 8vo., 78 pp. Reprint by the Libros Escogidos of this very rare Las Vegas, New Mexico item, which first appeared as a pamphlet in wrappers, in Spanish, by the police reporter for the town newspaper. Silva was a particularly bad character of the time. Illustrated chapter headings, lettering in red and black, dust jacket a bit chipped on spine; otherwise a near fine copy.

READ CAREFULLY before purchase: This is one of 175 un-numbered copies "french bound" which means NOT bound except in signature sewn state with NO binding. Purchaser was expected to take this copy to a "fine bookbinder" and have a binding of his or her preference placed on the book. Furthermore, in the manner of some fine books, many of the leaves are not separated. It was expected that the purchaser or bookbinder would separate the pages. A good quality playing card can be used to separate the leaves. SIGNED on limitation page (though this version of the book is not numbered) by the translator and illustrator. Good with some tan spotting to rear blank page and with slight spotting or foxing to some other pages. Letterpress printed by E.L. Hildreth and Company, Brattleboro, VT. 77 pages. Signed by Illustrator(s).
