SIGNED and lengthily INSCRIBED by the author on the front free endpaper: "Dear Lola, The tales herein may not remind you of [our pleasant ???] but may they [prove?] to in some measure to [sic] renew those happy memories. Kermit Daugherty." A debut novel about south-central Ohio, between the Ohio River and Chillicothe, written by one of that region's native sons, and written in a kind of country-rural dialect. The book is scarce, with or without dust jacket, and genuinely rare signed.
