This copy also includes the continuation of the Historical Records of the 4th Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment from 1902-1913 by Lt-Col Bulwer and Capt Collas. This is a stapled booklet (published by A C Lomax's Successors in 1914) which has been fairly crudely stuck into this copy at the rear endpapers. General wear and some marks to boards with discolouration to spine. Spotting to all edges of text block with extensive foxing to all pages throughout. Inscription to front paste-down with ex-libris stamps to prelims. Reading/working copy. 12mo. 87pp and 23pp.

De la bibliothèque de Louis Raymond de Montaignac de Chauvance ( provenance non attestée). Riche source d'information pour l'époque du début du Second Empire. La commission fût installée 31 octobre 1849 et devait s'arrêter avec le coup d'état de 2 décembre 1851. Tout ce qui était prêt à publiér est rassemblé ici dans ces deux volumes (publiés le 30 janvier 1852). L'enquete donne une aperçu quasi complet sur l'activité de la Marine Française au milieu du 19e siècle. Les enquêteurs avaient visité tous les ports de la Force Navale, ils discutent l'armement, les navires, la situation en Angleterre.etc.etc. ( French naval history ; 19th ; French Navy ; French harbours ).
