In-4°, pp. 68, legatura editoriale tutta tela color mattone con titolo impresso in bianco, in rosso, in nero ed in verde e illustrazioni in b.n. con raffigurazioni di indiani d'America e di scalpi di indiani con copricapi piumati. Una tav. a colori all'antiporta e numerose incisioni in b.n. di Max Slevogt n.t. e f.t. Sbiaditure e qualche minimo alone al piatto posteriore e al dorso, per il resto perfetto stato. Prima edizione di questo racconto ambientato tra gli Indiani d'America, scritto e illustrato da Max Slevogt (lo pseudonimo "W. Claire" adombra in realtà lil grande pittore tedesco). L'opera risente profondamente dell'influenza dell'"Atala" di Chateaubriand.

Spine lightly sunned, a few small spots of abrasion to the cloth, small split in paper over the front hinge, but bindingstill sound, text clean.1952 gift inscription in pencil on the front free endpaper to Max Kreutzberger, first Director of the Leo Baeck Institute in New York. Max Slevogt (1868-1932) "was a German Impressionist painter and illustrator, best known for his landscapes. He was, together with Lovis Corinth and Max Liebermann, one of the foremost representatives in Germany of the plein air style" (wiki).
