Fifty four images, arranged one to a page, with poem on the same page. Pages are double fold.

One of the most popular woodblock artists of all time, Ichiryusai Hiroshige, journeyed down the road from Tokyo to Kyota in 1832, along the way Hiroshige sketched 54 scenes, which appear in this wonderful little volume. Each print is accompanied by Japanese poetry forms: tanka, haiku, and senryu . . . the prints and the poems show wonderful details of everyday life and scenes. The prints are tipped-in. Cardboard covers are covered with attractively illustratred fabric and are stitched with purple thread. Volume is protected by attractive pictorial slipcase, which is in very good cond. Second cy, later printing, is also available & is very cood, near new cond. And protected in slipcase. Cy 2. prints are an intricate printed part of the volume and are not tipped in. Size: 6" x 4".
