From 1867 to 1875 Custer wrote a series of articles for the magazine "Turf, Field and Farm" regarding his adventures on the plains under the pseudonym "Nomad." In 1978, John Carroll collected these articles for the first time and published them in an edition of only 50 copies. In 1980 the University of Texas reprinted the book. This copy has been signed at the limitation, then inscribed by Carroll, though the recipient has inked out the inscription. Spiral bound wraps, with a bump to the top forecorner. . .
