Light tanning to pages and plates. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild tanning and scuffing overall. Visible staining to rear board. Spine has heavier tanning with soft splitting and crushing to ends. Gilt lettering is noticeably darkened and faded. Book has a slight forward lean.

1937, Richard Tilling, 15cm x 22cm portrait format hardback lacking dustjacket. 452pp including index. Originally published in 1934 this copy is the 1937 reprint with an addenda. 35 chapters with each usually dealing with the vessels of a specific British coastal shipping company or type of vessel. 89 illustrations mostly on separate plates which are all present although two have been attached at the wrong pages. Colour frontispiece. There is some sunlight fading to the spine and some minor wear to the binding at the foot of the spine. Very minor damp stain in the bottom corner at the binding towards the end of the book., Book weighs 1057g.
