A very good, collectible copy of the Partisan Review containing "Notes of a Dangling Man," an 18 page excerpt, with some revisions to create a cohesive story, from Bellow's soon to be published first novel, "Dangling Man" published by Vanguard in 1944, and Signed by him at his entry. Other contributors include, among others: Louise Bogan, the fourth Poet Laureate to the Library of Congress, two poems from W.H. Auden, and "Baudelaire and the Abyss" by Benjamin Fondane who was captured in France and sent to the gas chambers in Auschwitz-Birkenau during the last wave of the Holocaust in 1944. Covers and spine slightly darkened, small inked date in upper corner of front cover, small stain to 3 pages, staples beginning to oxidize, otherwise a very good copy.
