Illustrated throughout in black and white. A humorous bestiary of sorts, featuring entries such as "A Swallow" (man drinking rum), "The Chetah" (cheater), and a previous owner's pencil sketch next to the image of "A Little Bare" (scantily clad woman).

Bellew was the son of the more famous illustrator "Frank Bellew" [1828-1888].
