First Edition
Hardcover. Small 4to. Green cloth with gilt spine lettering and gilt and red regimental insignia. viii, 385pp, (13pp). Color frontispiece, numerous illustrations, 8 color maps, pictorial endpapers. Very good. Mild binding edgewear; front inner hinge a tad delicate. First edition, tight and decent. Inscription in blue ballpoint on half-title page "In Loving Memory / 'Your Marine Buddy' / Bob / 'Semper Fidelis'" conceivably by Aurthur or Vance, and Vance's facsimile signature on his foreword suggests a likelihood, but without additional exemplars to determine conclusively this remains unknown -- we point this out as a possibility, not a certainty.
