Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near fine. Dust Jacket Condition: very good +. First edition. First Printing. 272pp. 8vo. Green cloth over boards, stamped spine. Book is a first edition and a first printing (number line starts with 1). Book is unread, unclipped, tight and jacket has a Brodart protector. Book spine ends are slightly pushed, and jacket shows a bit of shelf wear on its extremities, with a repaired tear also on back of dust jacket. Book is about the amount of travel that tennis players were faced with when tennis changed from mostly an amateur sport to professional. The players had to travel almost non-stop from one tournament to another. There is a section of black and white photos that show Ashe on and off the tennis court. Two of the action photos of Ashe were taken by me--The Forehand and The Backhand. The match was at the Pro Tennis Tourney in Brookline, Massachusetts.
