Hilary Mantel leads the shortlist for 2012 Booker

The shortlist for the 2012 Man Booker Prize has been announced.  Hilary Mantel, a previous winner, is the favourite already according to the bookies. I’m sure Salt Publishing will be thrilled to see Alison Moore’s novel through to the big night.

Mantel won the prize in 2009 with Wolf Hall, the first of her Thomas Cromwell trilogy, and was also longlisted in 2005 for Beyond Black. Malaysian author Tan Twan Eng was longlisted for  in 2007 with his debut novel, The Gift of Rain.
