Michael Block has been active as a public historian and volunteer for the Friends of Cedar Mountain Battlefield and the Brandy Station Foundation since 2004. He has held leadership positions in both organizations. He retired from the United States Air Force in 2001 and retired to Williamsburg, VA with his wife Caryn after another 19 years in government contracting. He has authored articles for Blue and Gray Magazine and Hallowed Ground and speaks on Culpeper Civil War topics around the country. Mike is a guest blogger for the Emerging Civil War and posts to the Facebook page Dare Mark Line, which features activity and events of Civil War Culpeper and surrounding area. This is his first book.
