F. Charles Walters' fascination with the history of the two World Wars inspired him to write his first novel, The Three-Legged Stool. He created the story around a vividly rendered protagonist, Freddy Bauer, whose life parallels the tragic events unfolding the first half of the twentieth century. F. Charles Walters was born in New York City. He currently lives in Long Island, New York with his wife. When he's not writing, he tries to keep up with his four grandsons.

He has spent fifty years researching food and beverage trends for several industry leaders. At retirement, he held the title of Senior V.P. Director of Research. The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times among other leading publications have quoted him.
