On a personal note, I often get asked what motivated me to write a self-help book on dating. My keen interest in dating, mating, and the science of attraction actually dates from age 13 when I voraciously read Cosmopolitan Magazine--and anything else I could find that dealt with romantic relationships and sexuality. Then there was my own decades-long, pre-marriage dating life that included trying to make it work with limited-sex-appeal "nice guys," to off-the-charts-chemistry with emotional manipulators and narcissists. My passion for psychology eventually helped me understand these relationships, and the knowledge and experience I've acquired is constantly put to use helping clients in my practice deal with these "same" men now.
