Crystal Aceves

Crystal Aceves was born and raised in Emporia, Kansas—the official founding city of Veterans Day. It’s a fitting connection, as she dedicated eight years to researching and writing Captured by the Enemy, the true story of her grandfather’s capture and escape during World War II. In 2015, her book received an honorable mention in the general non-fiction category of the Hollywood Book Festival, a testament to her dedication to preserving history.

A graduate with honors from Emporia State University, Crystal balances her passion for writing with a career in real estate while raising a family with her husband and four children. Life has taken her to live in Baja California, Kansas, Iowa, Texas, and Oklahoma, but she has since returned to her hometown of Emporia.
