Deborah Kemball

I have been quilting for nearly 20 years now but discovered my love of applique five years ago and feel I finally found my real passion in the world of quilting. I am greatly inspired by antique textiles, especially the designs that influenced European silk design in the 18th century. The combination of coming to my design inspiration from this source and my self taught applique result in original, highly textured and detailed quilts. I feel very fortunate that they have been received so appreciatively by the quilting world and they have picked up many major national (Canadian) and international awards including at Houston, Paducah and Chicago over the past three years. I am so happy to be able to share some of my techniques and designs in my book, "Beautiful Botanicals" and hope that with the flexibility of the designs that other quilters will be able to either replicate identical copies or adapt them to make their own original quilts and pillows.
