Kirby Farrell's most recent book is The Psychology of Abandon. The book investigates styles of throwing off inhibitions in rampage killing, the new military, banking, and religion.

His Duncan Ames mystery Snuff is now an Amazon e-book.

Kirby is the author of Post-Traumatic Culture, which explores the way people use the idea of trauma in PTSD, feminism, and mass entertainment. His novels include Cony-Catching and the mysteries Snuff and The American Satan. Wearing another hat, he has written books about Shakespeare and the Renaissance, including The Mysteries of Elizabeth I.
