Original lithograph. Limited edition (#2 of 25 copies is indicated in pencil) Signed and titled in pencil. Image: approx 14 x 16"; Paper: 15 1/2 x 21 1/2". Some staining and small tears to margin, could be matted out. Early in his career, Boardman Robinson worked as an editor for Vogue. He also worked for Harper s Weekly, Collier s and Scribner s magazines and in 1910 he began doing editorial cartoons for The New York Tribune. In 1915 Robinson and his wife bought a home at 66 Mt. Airy Road in Croton-on-Hudson. Robinson was also a muralist and a successful illustrator, having done the artwork for editions of Herman Melville s Moby Dick, Edgar Lee Masters Spoon River Anthology, and Dostoyevsky s The Brothers Karamazov.
