Sandra Blow gouache on paper in pink and red with pencil. The sheet has a tear and a horizontal crease mark at the red and pink border, a little surface damage and some pin holes to lower margin, else very good. Framed as purchased from the estate auction. Sheet size 19 x 8.5 inches (490 x 220mm) Frame size 23.5 x 13 inches (600 x 330mm) Provenance: Sandra Blow Studio Sale, Lot 3, Thomas Barnes Auctions, St.Ives, 24th June 2018.Acquired at the Studio sale. They are mostly late period collages; the family advised us these were among the very last works she produced. The comparison with Matisse is apposite, she was arranging pre-coloured paper or card into collages in the same manner as the "papiers découpés" to which Matisse devoted his last years.
