Watercolour, "Blue Team Advancing" Art Sz: 11"H x 15"W Frame Sz: 17"H x 21"W Williamson Douglas attended Andover Academy and the University of North Carolina. He began painting in 1977, learning from the master portrait painter Joe Bowler, and was also influenced by Charles Reid, Ned Jacob and Michael Karas. Douglas was a member of The Chelsea Arts Club in London, England. His style is often referred to as "painterly," artistically he is a lyric realist. His paintings, which not only include polo, but landscapes, figurative renderings, seascapes and portraits as well, are reminiscent of the painters celebrated at the turn of the century.
