Poster apparently by Milky Lunch for the University of East Anglia (UEA) depicting the famous mugshot of Divine Brown (Estella Marie Thompson), with the line: 'you don't have to / BLOW A GRANT / for a good night Out'. In black frame, the whole 20.5" x 15.5" (approx.). Starting as a dance night in Norwich, by the late 1990s Milky Lunch Promotions presented events at the UEA and further afield. Not attributed to a specific artist, this poster (headed 'Milky Lunch') advertises 'monthly allnighters & discounts for students' (with a Norwich phone number) so is likely to be by Milky Lunch for the UEA student union. On the 27th of June 1995 the prostitute Divine Brown was arrested in LA with Hugh Grant; she was performing oral sex on the brake-heavy actor in his car. The poster probably dates from later that year or from 1996. Although the design is somewhat lo-fi, the poster is an entertaining early joke at the story's expense, and one suspects that this example is an uncommon survivor. Unsurprisingly, OCLC locates no copies. It appears that the lettering either side of the image might once have been more like red, or at least a clearer pink, but it is not impossible that the gradation of the colour (to white) is as issued. A little soiling, including 2 sticker ghosts at the foot of the glass covering. An extra charge for postage might be required. Seller Inventory # 001689
