Plate 2: Costume of Huizen in the province North Holland, The Netherlands, Holland, Chlidrens dress. From: Alma Oakes: "The National Costumes of Holland", London, 1932. This work contains fifty lithographs and is scarse since only 500 of 520 total sets were offered for sale. Colour lithographs on a vellin type paper. The original drawings are by the French Gratiane De Gardilanne and the American Elizabeth Whitney Moffatt. Around 1855 these then young girls travelled parts of Europe and sketched along the way, making fine watercolour and gouache drawings. Very good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. The overall size is ca. 27 x 37.5 cm. The image size is ca. 23.5 x 34 cm.
